2nd and 3rd grade students are learning some simple keyboard shortcuts while working on their blogs.  Below are a few we are learning about.  We use Macs in the lab, but I also included a link to keyboard shortcuts for PC.  The Kindergarten and first grade students are also exploring these basic keyboard shortcuts.

QUIT AN APPLICATION

To quit an application, hold down Command and then press, “Q.”

CUT ~ COPY ~ PASTE

To cut out text or photo: Command – “X” (the X looks just like scissors)

To copy text or photo: Command – “C”

To paste anything you cut or copy: Command – “V”

TAKE A SCREENSHOT

to take a screenshot of your screen: command-shift-4

 

Select what you want to take a picture of after you type the shortcut.

 

  Your selection will be saved as an image.
